The Laurel Main Street Festival is an annual street fair put on by the Laurel Board of Trade to promote and support local businesses.
Canvassing:
RCV Maryland will be meeting at 10:00 am at the corner of 7th street and Main. The Festival starts with a parade at 9:00 am. We encourage our volunteers to interact with the community. Fully participate in the festival — we want the people of Laurel to see RCVMD members and know we're a part of their community. Enjoy the food, browse the wares, and enjoy the performances. Get to know the people we're trying to work with! It is suggested that you bring water, sunscreen, a clipboard, and pens.
Accessibility:
The festival is free to the public and outdoors. This is a walking heavy event. It is possible you might have to park several blocks away from Main Street itself. The area is somewhat hilly and you'll likely have to walk up or downhill. The entire area is paved, but curb cuts may be obstructed by vendors. There are likely going to be live performances by local acts. If you are sensitive to sound, it is suggested you bring earplugs or noise cancelling headphones.
Parking:
Main Street itself will be closed to traffic. Street parking will be available in the surrounding neighborhoods. There might be parking available at the nearby Laurel Boys & Girls club — please refer to any signage posted the day-of.
